Shure 330 ribbon mic mod4/9/2023 I’m not going to strait up tell you to sell it, but it’s not a highly desirable mic and doesn’t sound “good” by modern standards. If you don’t have a lot of mics and you’re itching for a ribbon, there’s plenty of MUCH better options for a few hundred dollars these days. I think I traded mine for a really nice delay pedal at some point, so at best you’re going to get a few hundred dollars for it. It “might” do well on some screaming punk vocals or on a guitar cabinet, but at best it’s probably not something you’ll use a lot. It can be quite noisy (which is understandable as it’s literally one of the first ribbon mics ever made), and that Shure is still noisier.Īll that to say, don’t expect to record any “normal” vocals or acoustic instruments with it. I’ve got an RCA ribbon mic from 1932 right now, that’s the first year RCA commercially made ribbon mics. ![]() ![]() It’s a weird sounding microphone and even as far as ribbons go, they tend to be really noisy.
